Doris Rash of Lake Placid represented all Highlands County veterans when she attended an Aug. 24-30 national convention of the American Legion family in Indianapolis, Ind. Rash served as state president of the American Legion Auxiliary for the 2002-2003 term.

Rash explained the American Legion family includes members of American Legion, The American Legion Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion and the newest addition, The American Legion Riders.
