Turnout massive for Wright’s final ceremony

Family, friends and professional peers and associates, as well as people from various other walks of life, bid good bye Saturday, Oct. 6, to the late Karla Foreman Wright, filling every seat and pew in the chapel of First Baptist Church. Knowing the turnout would be what it was, First Baptist made available its chapel for the celebration of life ceremony conducted by Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
People began arriving as early as an hour before the 11 a.m., start. As they arrived they began filling the parking lots not only of the church, but those of neighboring sites, including the parking lots surrounding city hall.
