The first Brown Bag luncheon returned to the Bartow Public Library this week. Band students from Bartow High and the IB play at noon on the second Tuesday of the month. Those who played Tuesday were, from left, Assistant Director of Bands Mindi Mulligan, Jordan Congdon in the 10th grade; Annika Mulaney in the 10th grade; Gina DiGioia in the 10th grade; Sujaya Rajguru in the 10th grade; Tiffani Stokes in the 12th grade and Aleah Whitaker in the 12th grade. The next performance is Nov. 13.
A second week to October has flown by and it’s a great day to take your family down to the Homeland Heritage Park for the 24th Annual Cracker Storytelling Festival. Many of our own library staff are assisting and a few are even telling stories! The festival runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tuesday will mark the return of the Polk Works Mobile One-Stop Bus. It will be outside our library from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The unit allows for individuals to search for jobs online, prepare resumes, and submit applications for open positions. All of their services are free of charge. For information, call 863-508-1100.
