More than 2,000 fifth-graders in four counties got dictionaries from area Rotary Clubs and a Wauchula woman got an early Christmas present — or money to spend on Christmas — as she won $1,000 from a raffle drawing the clubs held Tuesday from among those who helped sponsor the yearly drive.

Rotary Clubs in Polk, Highlands, Hardee and Hillsborough counties hold the drive yearly and provide dictionaries to fifth- graders in all those counties. In the drive for this last year, the clubs raised $42,000 for the dictionaries. The last delivery of the dictionaries were delivered to Frostproof schools this week.
