PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A group of fraternity brothers from Alabama’s Troy University have arrived in Panama City Beach after completing a six-day, 140-mile walk for charity.

The News Herald of Panama City reports 10 Alpha Tau Omega brothers arrived at city hall on Wednesday afternoon. They were sunburned and exhausted as they met with supporters and athletes from Special Olympics of Bay County.

The fraternity’s “Walk Hard” trek from Troy, Ala., to Panama City Beach was born in 2010 when they saw a man in a Superman costume walking along a road.

This year, they’ve raised about $5,000 but are still collecting donations.

Troy junior Ethan Carroll says it’s the “most physically and mentally challenging” thing he’s ever done. The group walked about 25 miles per day.
