Harassment in the workplace is on the rise, said Andrea Smith, an attorney at the Lakeland office of Peterson and Meyers, who was guest presenter at the most recent Bartow Kiwanis Club luncheon.

“Race and sex discrimination are at the top of complaints,” she said. Also on the rise, Smith added, was the rate of retaliation against those who filed complaints.
