Have you been by to meet our newest librarian? Paul Wartenberg started last week as our new Reference/Computer Librarian. Born in Georgia, he was raised in a military family and traveled around quite a bit before his family settled in the Tampa Bay area. He has relocated to Bartow and is looking forward to being a part of this community. He is very skilled with computers and will be here to offer one-on-one computer help along with teaching classes on computers and eBooks.

The library will host a series of classes over six weeks covering basic computer skills. Each Monday at 1-3 p.m. this class will offer hands-on experience with using computers, with nine spots open for registration with two additional spots for attendees bringing their own laptops. Call or sign up at the circulation desk today. Classes begin March 11.

Join us for story times this week with Miss Melissa. Wednesday at 10 a.m., for 3-5 year olds, is a winter themed story time complete with stories, finger plays, music and films. Thursday at
10 a.m., for 18 months to 2 years, is Book Babies featuring nursery rhymes, finger plays, music and bubbles.

Our library will have a new addition starting next week. A statue will be placed in our lobby in memory of David Hallock. The dedication for the statue will be Thursday at 6 p.m. Please join us as we remember a Friends of the Library member and supporter.

Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2, every library in Polk County will be hosting career specialists from Polk Works. They will be at our library to help with resume review, mock interviews and job search assistance. The specialists will be here from 9 a.m. to
5 p.m. both days.
