Keep your emergency contact information on file, up to date

Bartow Police Chief Joseph Hall

In the City of Bartow, you are required to register your alarm with the police department by order of Municipal Code. There is a very good reason for this. If your alarm is activated for any reason and the police are dispatched, it is imperative that we have access to someone with authority to meet us there or approve police action.

Often times, especially in businesses, management changes for a variety of reasons. When this happens to your company, don’t forget to notify the police department that your emergency contacts have changed as well. If we find your home or business has been vandalized or even victimized by theft or burglary, we don’t have the means or authority to take action on your private property-except in emergency situations. It is imperative that we locate someone within your organization that can provide us with the means to secure or even check the premises for a crime.

At this time of year, the Bartow Police Department identifies an employee that will make calls to businesses that have properly registered with us, to update their contact information. I recommend that you do not wait; if you believe there may have been changes made but have forgotten to tell us, call the police department. We will verify your credentials, and make the necessary corrections. It is for your safety; and it provides faster and more efficient service to our customers.

Please call Robin Guilford at 863-534-5034 to register or change any contact information that needs to be updated.
