Dawn A. Jerkins Ensslin
Ms., Dawn A. Jerkins Ensslin, 42, passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, with her daughter, De’Laney Chellav (Tink) Ensslin, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Dawn was born April 19, 1970, in Marshall, Mich., and was a lifelong resident of Fort Meade.
She worked for the Polk County School Board at the Lewis Anna Woodbury Elementary Cafeteria.
Dawn was a member of First Baptist Church, Fort Meade where she worked in the AWANA program and Vacation Bible School. She also volunteered with the HELP of Fort Meade and the migrant school.
Dawn was a loving mother and she loved to coach the Dixie Youth T-Ball and the young girls in cheerleading.
She graduated from Fort Meade High School, Class of 1989.
Dawn was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mitchell Hicks and Maxine Watson and Alto Lee and Chellav Jerkins, Sr.
She is survived by her daughter, Destiny Ensslin, Lakeland, Fla.; father and mother, Bill and June Jerkins, Fort Meade, Fla.; brothers, Jack Jerkins (Mary Jo), Bartow, Fla., Lyle Jerkins (Karen), Lakeland, Fla., Chip Jerkins (Rachel), Lakeland, Fla.; sisters, Terry Jerkins, Foley, Ala., Elizabeth Mosley, Fort Meade, Fla.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was 6-8 p.m., Friday,
Sept. 21, 2012, at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade.
Funeral services were 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at the First Baptist Church, 307 E. Broadway, Fort Meade with Rev. Kenny Slay and John Wheeler officiating.
