James A. Jimmie Parker
Mr. James A. “Jimmie” Parker, passed away Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at his home of heart failure.
Jimmie was born on May 11, 1941, in Bowling Green, Fla., and was a lifelong resident of Fort Meade.
He was the owner of Hydra-Lube Hydraulics in Fort Meade for 20 years, and a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Fort Meade.
Jimmie was a graduate of Fort Meade High School, Class of 1960, where he played football and baseball. He loved the outdoors and was and avid hunter. Jimmie never met a stranger, and everyone loved his great sense of humor and his caring personality, especially his family of whom he was very devoted.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his father, J.B. Parker.
He is survived by his wife, Lynee Parker, Fort Meade; sons, Mel Parker, Fort Meade, Joey Parker and Daniel Dean both of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; chosen daughter, Melissa Newman, Fort Meade; mother, Wahneta Dotson Parker, Wauchula, Fla.; sisters, Sue Altman and Pat Witt, both of Wauchula, Fla., Mary Holly of Arcadia, Fla., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013, at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Fort Meade with Rev. Joe Taylor and Rev. Harold Armstrong officiating.
Interment will follow in Paynes Creek Cemetery, Bowling Green.
