Sheriff Grady Judd described his staff as very depressed over the death of a full-term baby, born healthy then allegedly killed by his mother, a fourteen-year-old girl. The suspect is in the Juvenile Detention Center, charged with first-degree murder at this time.

The tragedy of a baby killed by an under-aged mother has reared its ugly head, leaving a Lakeland family in shambles and a 14-year-old girl in juvenile detention, charged with first-degree murder.
