An argument between a man and woman in the vicinity of West Vine Street escalated to the point of a death threat after the woman, in trying to leave the scene, accidently struck the suspect, according to a report from the Bartow Police Dept. At that point, the suspect, DeWayne Oliver Dyson Jr. grabbed the woman, and a third person, his brother Nicklas Crockett, got involved, punching the suspect in the face area. The resulting physical fight ended with Dyson grabbing a knife off the table, wielding it at his brother, stating “You’re dead.”

Police were called and both men were transported to the Polk County Jail. A background check revealed that Dyson was on probation for felony battery. He has now been charged with violation of community control.
