Pulled over Feb. 2 on a routine traffic stop, on North Broadway Avenue, Eugene Workman was arrested by Bartow Police for alleged possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Workman, 45, of Lakeland, was asked by police if he had any weapons in his car, a question to establish officer safety, and he said he did. When the officer asked dispatch to determine if the driver had a concealed weapons permit, police say it was found that his application for a Florida permit had been denied.
