Non-boaters ruled the
day for high school anglers

Lakeland Jr. Bassmasters fished their tournament out of Southport on Lake Toho Saturday, Sept. 8, and it was a day for the non-boaters.

Non-boaters swept the wins in both age divisions and brought in the only two limits out of 26 anglers. The winners stayed in Toho with Lakes Cypress, Hatchineha and Kissimmee not paying off for those who chanced the run south.

Results:11-14-year-olds

First: Mica Patel with 9.7 lbs. and big bass of 4.5 lbs.

Second: Jackson Williams with 9.45 lbs.

Third: Roger Weigel with 5.25 lbs.

15-18-year-olds

First: Harry Linsinbigler with 6.8 lbs. and big bass of 3.15 lbs

Second: Jamie Eskdale with 3.4 lbs.

Third: Jay Malys and Bradley Cullaton with 1.75 lbs. each

October’s tournament will be on Lake Kissimmee from Camp Mack on Oct. 6. The pre-tournament meeting is at 6 p.m., Oct. 3, at Regal Chevrolet on U.S. Highway 98 South, Lakeland.
