ARCADIA — Arcadia resident Shasta Grimes is a wife, mother, teacher, photographer, president of a nonprofit organization and soon to be adoptive mother of two Haitian children.

If you ask her how many children she has, she will tell you six, even though two of the children are not yet here with her. She feels that “a child is conceived in your heart and not in your womb.”
