DeSoto Arts and Humanities Council October Member Meeting will be a field trip to Solomon’s Castle on Oct. 13 for a tour and lunch at the Boat in the Moat restaurant. Nonmembers are welcome, but you must sign up in advance to take the free tour. Call Clel at 863-494-2701 to sign up by Oct.11. On Oct. 13, meet at 10:30 a.m. at The Arcadian Parking lot, 108 S. Polk Ave.to carpool to the Castle in Lily, Florida. If you have never been to Somon's Castle, you’re in for a treat. And even if you’ve been there, Howard Solomon guarantees you will see something you haven’t seen before. Howard has been a supporter of DAHC since the beginning and has graciously offered to provide members with a free tour. Lunch will be your choice from the menu which includes a variety of salads, sandwiches and entrees such as lasagna, meatloaf, chicken pot pie. Most menu items are under $10; each member will be responsible for their own tab. Be at the Arcadian promptly at 10:30 a.m. Solomon’s Castle is located at 4533 Solomon Road, in the Lily area of Hardee County, just off CR 665.
