PORT CHARLOTTE — After the opening salvo of a war of words concerning Parkside, a rational discussion broke out.

The scene was a meeting Thursday evening at the Cultural Center of Charlotte County, called by the county Community Development Department to gather input on future land-use proposals for the Parkside Community Redevelopment Area plan.
