ARCADIA — A sparse crowd lined Oak Street to watch the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade.
The esteemed civil rights leader would have turned 84 on Jan. 15 had he not been assassinated on April 4, 1968 outside a Memphis, Tenn. hotel.
