Raffaele Ponti will be the guest conductor for the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra’s classical concert Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Charlotte Performing Arts Center, 701 Carmalita St. in Punta Gorda.

There will also be a free preconcert lecture by Ponti at 6:30 p.m. The evening of classical music will feature selections from Rossini — “Overture: La gazza ladra (the Thieving Magpie)”; Bruch — “Scottish Fantasy, Op. 46,” featuring Michael Ludwig on violin; and Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 5, Op. 64.”
