Living in one world, missing another
By LUKE WILSON
The world we live in now is certainly not the one we once lived in. The advancements of medicine, science and technology have improved the quality of life for mankind, there’s no denying that. But I can’t help but think that we’ve lost something along the way.
My childhood and youth were spent in a world where people rarely locked their cars or even their homes. Houses of worship were open, day and night, for those who felt compelled to visit there. Of course thieves were around in those days, but there were less of them because so many people weren’t hooked on drugs or out of work.
