The Arcadia City Council, in trying to find ways to cut expenses to the bare bones, discussed eliminating the Arcadia Police Department at their special budget workshop last Saturday. It’s a controversial proposal, one which has been presented before, and one which generates a wide range of public opinions.
We asked our Facebook readers to weigh in on how they feel about eliminating APD, with the understanding that the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office would assume responsibility for law enforcement within city limits.
