Frank P. Maher

Frank P. Maher, 59, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, at his home.

He was born March 3, 1953, in Philadelphia, Pa., then moved to DeSoto County, Fla., 29 years ago, where he has remained.

Frank spent his working career as a heavy-equipment operator, working on various land-development projects throughout the area. He was a member of Local Union 487 (Operating Engineers), and a member of the NRA, as he enjoyed collecting various guns. Another favorite pastime was fishing with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Helen “Jean” Maher of Arcadia; son, Dennis; daughter, Nicole; stepson, Richard; mother, Marie H. Maher; five grandchildren; and his sidekick and faithful companion, “Bud.”

A Celebration of Frank’s Life will be announced by his family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in Frank‘s name be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 22035, St. Petersburg, FL 33742. Online condolences can be made at www.pongerkaysgrady.com.
