MANATEE COUNTY — An Arcadian woman was killed, and another woman and a man seriously injured in a one-car crash on Interstate 75 in Manatee County on Monday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Hector Miguel Gomez, 30, of Arcadia, was driving a 2006 Jeep southbound on I-75 around 3:45 a.m. when the vehicle failed to follow a left curve. The Jeep traveled onto the west shoulder, struck a sign post, struck a fence, rotated, and then went through the fence. The FHP report states the vehicle then struck several small trees, another fence, and overturned onto its left side. FHP said the Jeep continued to move on its side when it struck a third fence and finally came to rest.
