Pressure gets to Bobcats
LEHIGH ACRES — North Port High School may have been in trouble Saturday morning even before tip-off, when Darmesha Washington took her place in the pre-game huddle wearing sweatpants and a wrap on her right arm. The team’s star forward had extended her elbow in Friday’s game and sat out the Bobcats’ Queen of Palms finale.
“(The effect) is not just physical, but mental,” North Port coach Tom Tintor said. “The team knows what she’s good for: 12-15 points, 12-15 rebounds.”
