The 2012-2013 DeSoto County girls soccer team get together after their final regular season game. They finished their season with a 10-9 record and are in district action this week.
Just before the holiday break, the DeSoto County Bulldogs girls varsity soccer team defeated Lemon Bay 2-1. Their first opponent after the break was the Mantas again. This time the Bulldogs made a late goal by Isabel Gutierrez stand up for a 1-0 win.
Gutierrez’ winning shot nearly didn’t make it into the net. The Mantas’ keeper Madison Johnson leaped for the ball as it sailed over her head towards the net. She managed to get her fingers on it but couldn’t stop the ball. Johnson turned around and dove on the ball but it was too late as it had already entered the net.
