After a long layoff from Christmas Break, it only took the DMS Lady Panthers a half a game to get back in the groove and pull away from the Lake Panther Lady Dragons.

The DeSoto girls jumped to an early 4-0 lead thanks to a couple of quick baskets by forward Lexi Williams and guard Tigeona Hatcher, but then the first half seemed to slow down with numerous turnovers and jump balls by both teams. Each team scored seven points for the remainder of the first half which saw the Lady Panthers hanging on for a 11-7 halftime lead.
