SARASOTA — Florida Gulf Coast University wrapped up its weekend at Ed Smith Stadium with a winning record after a 4-0 victory against St. John’s on Sunday, and the Eagles headed home pleased after facing their first competition of the season.

“We pitched well today, and I think if we pitch, we’re going to win a lot of games,” coach Dave Tollett said. “We’re not fully healthy on the mound just yet, but I think once we get fully healthy our bullpen is going to be pretty strong, too.”
