Pirates drop district opener

SARASOTA — Port Charlotte High School’s baseball game against Sarasota on Tuesday night was the first district game for each team, and it showed.

Inconsistent hitting and a few mistakes by both teams held the score at 1-1 until Sarasota batted around in the sixth inning and scored five runs en route to a 6-1 win.
