So you have never heard of the DeSoto Sidewinders baseball team? It’s a group of high school players who have been playing baseball this summer against teams from Lemon Bay, Sebring, Avon Park and Bayshore.

The competition is a level between sandlot ball and high school ball. Players get a chance to improve on their game against good competition, and it also gives them something to do during the summer that is beneficial for themselves.
