NORTH PORT — North Port Fire Rescue has announced the arrival of an Emergency Medical Services Bayflite helicopter, which has taken up residence at North Port Fire Station 81 on the corner of Sumter and City Center boulevards.

Bayflite is a nonprofit organization affiliated with Bayfront Medical Center of St. Petersburg, according to NPFD Fire Marshal Michael Frantz, who said the location of the helicopter at the fire station was “more conducive” than placing it adjacent to the Emergency Room and Health Care Center on 2345 Bobcat Village Center Road.
