Boats ready to light it up

Hazard or harmless small-town fun? Residents cordoned off areas along the Intracoastal Waterway in advance of Saturday evening's boat parade in Venice but there is concern that their stakes, ropes string and tape could be dangerous in the dark.
While some people are filling up blogs and Facebook pages with comments about Venice City Council’s decision to limit the number of days prior to the Holiday Parade that people can put out their chairs next year, others are getting ready to enjoy Venice’s other great seasonal parade — the Venice Christmas Boat Parade.
Thousands will line the Intracoastal Waterway tonight (Saturday) to view the spectacle of boats large and small decked out in their holiday best.
