The North Port Area Chamber of Commerce will present the 2010 Business Disaster Planning Workshop from 10:30 a.m.-noon Oct. 30 for local area business owners who are current members or are considering NPACC membership. It will be held in the Juliano Room of the North Port Library, 13800 S. Tamiami Trail. Seating is limited and registration is required.

A commitment to planning today will help support employees, customers, the community and the local economy, chamber officials say. It also protects your business investment and gives your company a better chance for survival.

The workshop will be led by Richard Berman, Emergency Management coordinator for North Port Fire Rescue. The following topics will be discussed — facility disruption, workforce shortage, developing an emergency plan, preparing your building, checking insurance coverage and enhancing cyber security.
