CHARLOTTE COUNTY — Dave Galloway says he started roofing in 1988 and hasn’t “put the hammer down since.”

A licensed contractor since 2008, Galloway has recently embarked on a new business venture in Charlotte County after leaving his previous enterprise, Apex Roofing, in the hands of his former partner. With nine employees and help from his family — his wife, Renee, handles the books, his son helps with jobs when he’s not busy with school or football, and his daughter sends “thank you” notes to all his customers. Galloway Roofing primarily does residential work but won’t turn down a commercial job.
