Nancy Kay Czerwinski Looney
Nancy Kay Czerwinski Looney, 59, of Englewood, Fla., passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, in Gunnison, Colo.
She was born Jan. 31, 1953, in Englewood, to Joe and Elsie (nee Anderson) Czerwinski.
Nancy was a fifth-generation Englewood resident. She was a proud graduate of the University of Florida, graduating with high honors, and earned a bachelor’s degree in banking and finance, where her degree led her to managing several local banks in the Englewood and Venice, Fla., area. Nancy served on several local advisory boards, including the YMCA and the Venice Rotary Club. She loved to read, go diving and explore the wildlife, but most of all she treasured the times she spent with her husband, Michael. Nancy loved Englewood and Englewood loved Nancy.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 29 years, Michael; mother, whom she dearly loved, Elsie Czerwinski; brother, Michael (Nancy) Czerwinski; cousin, Carolin Pope; maternal aunt, Lou Anderson; nephew, Robin Czerwinski; and several other cousins. Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Joe, in 2009.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Englewood United Methodist Church. A reception will follow immediately after the service in the Suncoast Auditorium at Englewood Community Hospital. You may express your condolences to the family at www.lemonbayfh.com.
