Clara Gertrude Latosek, 95, of Englewood, Fla., passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Manorcare Health Services of Venice, Fla.

She was born Sept. 20, 1917, in New Brunswick, Canada to Carleton J. and Anna C. (nee McIsaac) Bailey.

Clara moved to Florida in 1986, from Plymouth, Mass. She graduated from Carney Hospital as a registered nurse in 1941, and from Boston University as a nurse practitioner in 1976. Clara and her husband owned and operated Meadowcroft Nursing Home in Plymouth, Mass. for over 25 years, and than went to work for the Brockton V.A. for 15 years. She was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Englewood, the American Legion Post #40 in Plymouth, VFW Post Auxiliary #10178 and DOES #203 both of Englewood, and Plymouth.

Clara is survived by her children, Carolyn F. Montanari of Beverly, Mass., Linda A. Toia of Lansdale, Pa., Frank J. Latosek of Laconia, N.H., James P. Latosek of Plymouth, Thomas A. Latosek of Key West, Fla.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at Englewood Community Funeral Home, Inc. 3070 S. McCall Rd., with the reverend Frank Toia presiding. A private burial will be held in Plymouth, at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made in Mrs. Latosek’s name to Dogs for the Deaf/Dogs for the Autistic C/O Englewood DOES Elks Lodge 401 N. Indiana Ave., Englewood, FL 34223, or St. Vincent De Paul Society C/O St. Peter’s Church 10 Memorial Dr., Plymouth, MA 02360.
