Allen “Al” Warwick, 85, of Englewood, Fla., passed away quietly Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte, Fla.

Born Aug. 8, 1927, in Scotland, he had been a resident of Englewood for 15 years, coming from Exeter, R.I.

Mr. Warwick retired from the University of Rhode Island as the assistant director of dining services after 30 years. He was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Ann M. Warwick of Englewood; two daughters, Christine Warwick of Esposito, Calif., and Laurie Capizzano of Richmond, R.I.; and two grandsons, Ryan and Connor Capizzano.

A Memorial Prayer Service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Englewood Community Funeral Home, 3070 S. McCall Road, Englewood.
