Marie G. Amicucci, 80, of Englewood, Fla., passed away Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013.

She was born Sept. 19, 1932, in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Vincenzo and Ignazia Mattias.

Marie came to this area 15 years, ago coming from Lincoln Park, Mich. She was a member of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Englewood and was retired from the U.S. Postal Department in Michigan.

Marie is survived by her daughters, Anna Maria (David) Cochran of North Port, Fla., and Jill St. Amant of Port Charlotte, Fla.; brother, Tom Mattias of Brighton, Mich.; sister, Jenny Hadus of Englewood; grandchildren, Erin, Therese, Alyssa, Alex, and Olivia; and great-grandchildren, Madyson, Sophia, and Hunter. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Jerry.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at the Lemon Bay Funeral Home in Englewood. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Park in Englewood.
