Butch J. Lavoie, 66 of Englewood, Fla., passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2013.
He was born Oct. 18, 1946 in Willimantic, Conn.
Butch worked at General Dynamics in Groton, Conn., for 36 years, and retired as a Quality Inspector in January 2008. He moved to Englewood, in January 2008. Butch was best known for his witty sense of humor and his love of fishing and boating. He was also an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Indianapolis Colts.
Butch is survived by his wife, Debbie Lavoie; daughter, Jodi (Mike) D’Angelo of Granby; granddaughter, Madison D’Angelo of Granby; mother, Irene Lavoie of Willimantic; sisters, Carol Field of Sydney, Australia, and Jackie Lavoie of Englewood; uncle, Francis (Joe) Lavoie of Las Vegas, Nev.; his nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; and his beloved dogs, Pepito and Jake. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Lavoie Sr.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Suncoast Humane Society on San Casa Drive in Englewood.
