Charles E. Fraser, 76, died peacefully Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at his home on Manasota Key in Englewood, Fla.
He was born June 15, 1937, in Lakeland, Fla., the only child to Cecil and Theresa (nee Arnold) Fraser.
Charles attended Lakeland High School where he was a member of the undefeated football team. He entered the U.S. Army in November 1955 and was selected to study for the Academy at West Point. Charles joined State Farm Insurance in 1964 and served as an agent in Tampa, Fla., and Plant City, Fla., for 35 years. He was an avid fisherman and spent many hours on the water throughout his life with his family and his childhood friend, Richard Atchison and his wife, Carol Atchison.
Charles is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn (nee Edwards); his son, Barry Fraser; daughter-in-law, Lynn Hennegan Fraser; grandchildren, Kathryn and Andrew; great-granddaughter, Rylie; daughter, Pamela Fraser Fendt; and son-in-law, Harry Edward Fendt.
At Charles’ request there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers or culinary comforts, the family requests that donations be made to Tidewell Hospice.
