PUNTA GORDA — Rasely Moyer, the Port Charlotte man accused in the 2009 stabbing death of his wife, pleaded guilty on Monday at the Charlotte County Justice Center, according to the State Attorney’s Office.

Moyer, 71, was sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter, reduced from second-degree murder, in front of 20th Judicial Circuit Judge Christine Greider, according to SAO spokeswoman Samantha Syoen, who added that the victim’s family felt the plea deal was the best course of action.
