PORT CHARLOTTE — For most soccer coaches, giving up goals in the first five minutes of a half is a cardinal sin. So Port Charlotte coach Chip Stec was less than thrilled when Venice opened its 3-1 victory against the Pirates by doing just that.
Freshman Emily Dalton took a throw-in and made a run down the left side before firing the goal past Port Charlotte keeper Veronica Milo in the fifth minute of the contest.
