Officials cite ‘grave’ concerns over power authority’s debt
Long at odds with the entity which supplies the city with its electricity, Fort Meade officials now say they have “grave concerns” over the Florida Municipal Power Agency’s “viability to continue as a going concern.”
At the Fort Meade city commission meeting Dec. 11, office holders voted unanimously to send FMPA a letter stating their worries over interest rate swaps regarding a coal powered electric plant that was never built.
