Annie R. Butler, 73, passed away from cancer Tuesday , Nov. 20, 2012, at home in Bartow.

Born on Nov. 16, 1939, in Soperton, Ga., she was the daughter of the late A.D. and Lottie Whitaker.

Mrs. Butler had worked for the City of Bartow and Sign Creations as a cashier.

She is survived by a loving family that includes her husband, Wendell M. Butler, five children; Mitzi A. McGifford of Phoenix, Ariz., Janet M. Glover of Jacksonville, Charles Lee Troutt, of Bartow, Timothy A. Troutt of Bartow, Ronnie Butler of Bartow; eight siblings, Betty Haggins of Lakeland, Doshie Brill of Mountain Grove, Mo., Katie Tucker of Hartville, Mo., Judy Carroll of Lakeland, Allen J. Whitaker, Kermit Whitaker, Arnold Whitaker all of Bartow, and Roger Whitaker of Lakeland.

She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Whidden-McLean Funeral Home in Bartow.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Ave., Auburndale, FL 33823.
