Clarence Odell Robinson, 70, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2013.

He was born April 19, 1942, in Avon Park. He was the son of the late Lonnie and Myrtle (Crutchfield) Robinson.

Odell served in the Florida National Guard. He was a longtime member of Wildwood Baptist Church. Mr. Robinson worked for U.S. Agrichemical for many years. He also retired from Polk County Utilities as a Utilities Construction Supervisor.

Odell was actively involved in the Polk County Historical Association, where he was the editor of the monthly newsletter and quarterly publications. He also served on the steering committee for 125 reunion of Summerlin Institute.

Along with his parents, Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his son, Clarence Odell Robinson, Jr.; and his granddaughter, Jennifer Parker.

He is survived by a loving family that includes his wife, of 25 years, Sarah L. Robinson of Bartow; his children; Joseph L. Robinson, Sr. (Tyleia) of Bartow, James C. Robinson, Sr. of Lakeland, Diane M. Parker (Jeffrey) of Sebring, Susan Y. Hagood of Hahira, Ga., and Hubert Durrell Hagood of Bartow; and sisters; Sarah Bruce (Dennis) of Bartow, and Betty Cannons (Russ) of Bartow. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, Joseph L. Robinson Jr., Shane A. Robinson, James C. Robinson, Jr., Brent A. Hagood, and Olivia S. Hagood; and his four great-grandchildren, Aniyah N. Whitlock, Antianna K. Whitlock, Aydan P. Whitlock and Jamie L. Robinson.

The family will receive friends Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Wildwood Baptist Church in Bartow.

Funeral services follow at 11 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wildwood Baptist Church Building Fund, 1120 S. Woodlawn Ave., Bartow, FL 33830.
