Irrie T. Smith, 86, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, in Sebring, Fla.

Mr. Smith was born on Dec. 9, 1926, and was a native and lifelong resident of Fort Meade.

He retired from Estech Chemical Co. as an electrician after 43 years of service.

Mr. Smith was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a member of the Fort Meade American Legion, Post 23 Fort Meade and a member of the First Church of God, Fort Meade.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Aldwilda Smith; three brothers; and a sister.

He is survived by his sons, Joe A. Smith of Fort Myers, Fla., Bill S. Smith of Tampa, Fla., Tim H. Smith of Ft. Myers and Randall Smith of Wauchula, Fla.; daughter, Dawn Stark of Wauchula; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 10-11:00 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2013, at Hancock Funeral Home, 945 E. Broadway, Fort Meade.

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
