Mrs. Allene Forsythe Morgan, 82, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, Fla., after complications from a stroke.

Mrs. Morgan was born June 24, 1930, in Plant City, Fla., and after living in Fort Meade, Fla., for many years she returned to Plant City in 1985.

She retired after 20 years from CF Industries as a traffic supervisor.

Mrs. Morgan was proud that she was the first female traffic supervisor in the entire State of Florida.

She was a member of Plant City First Baptist Church and a graduate of Plant City High School, Class of 1948.

Mrs. Morgan loved to give of herself and helping others. In 2001, after 9/11, she traveled to New York to volunteer at Ground Zero with The Salvation Army and First Baptist Church of Plant City. Mrs. Morgan also spent many summers working in Jackson Hole, Wyo., at the Lake Jackson Lodge.

Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband, Vivian B. Morgan; sisters, Willie Mae Townsend, Evelyn Hancock, Annie Lee Cone and Rubye Fair.

She is survived by her son, Greg Morgan of Plant City; daughter, Peggy Parke and husband, Bobby of Dover, Fla.; grandchildren, Ken Morgan of Cocoa Beach, Fla., who she raised for many years, Erin McQuaig of Wahia, Hawaii, Kristen Hitchcock of Plant City, Kevin Morgan of Valrico, Fla., Matt Parke of Dover and Carla Daughtry of Mulberry, Fla.; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Springhead Baptist Church, Springhead, Fla.

Funeral services follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Dr. Ron Churchill officiating.

Interment will follow in Springhead Cemetery.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hancockfh.com. Those wishing to make contributions to charitable organizations, the family requests donations be made to Stepping Stone Farms or the Florida Baptist Children’s Home.

Hancock Funeral Home, Fort Meade, is in charge of arrangements.
