Two Step-up
Academies may be delayed in opening
The Step-Up charter academies that will allow high school students to catch up on their credits may be short by two when they open their doors in January.
The academies planned for Tenoroc and Lake Region High Schools have 40 to 50 students enrolled at this point, and the schools are budgeted for 150 students, Polk School Board member Debra Wright pointed out at a work session Dec. 11.
