BOCC honors Marian Ryan

Marian Ryan (center) was honored by the Polk County Board of Commissioners for her years of service with the Friends of the Parks Foundation. With her are David Duff, newly-appointed executive director of the foundation, and Glenda Mink, retired from the Polk County Parks and Recreation Department.
In addition to proclaiming January 2013 as the 45th Anniversary of the Agricultural and Labor Program, Inc., and a resolution presented to retiring Clerk of the Court Richard Weiss in which a section of the Polk County History Center will be named in his honor (in which there will be a formal dedication Jan. 4 at 4:30 p.m.), one other recognition took place during the Dec. 18, Polk County Commissioner regular meeting.
Marian Ryan was recognized for her years of service to Friends of the Park; Ryan has served as its president from 2004-2012.
