Fame came a little late for Dusty the Chicken. Dusty was born with no eyes but lived for 18 months due to the care of owner Diane Koplin of Lake Placid.

It’s often true that most who become famous do so after they have passed on to their great reward. That’s the case with Lake Placid’s own Dusty the Chicken.

Dusty was recently recognized in the newest version of Ripley’s Believe it or Not! publications; this one entitled Download the Weird. Sharing the pages with a scooter-riding dog in Georgia, a sculptor in England who produces tiny figures small enough to fit in the eye of a needle and a host of voodoo superstitions, Dusty’s is yet another in the collection of unbelievable stories that has made Ripley’s so popular.
