Volunteer firefighters from across southern Highlands County will be guests of honor at an appreciation dinner Saturday hosted by the Leisure Lakes Volunteer Fire Department. More than 100 members of six volunteer fire departments have indicated they will be in attendance.

“It’s going to be a big crowd,” Leisure Lakes Fire Chief Danny Holmes said of the dinner plans. “We’re going all out to show our appreciation to our fellow firemen and women.”
